Prior to further processing in the chemical industry, the crude tar is rid of contaminants and water. High-performance decanters and separators are used for this duty, which reliably separate the solids and water out of the tar.
The decanter separates the coal tar into three phases in one process step: solids, tar and water. Due to the high separating efficiency, the tar can be profitably sold for further processing. In this way, a by-product becomes a lucrative resource.
A down-stream self-cleaning separator removes the finest particles from the tar. By this means, a high-grade tar can be recovered that can be used as a starting material for the production of various chemical substances.
